Wedge wire is a profile wire works mostly as filter media screen, sifting screen, draining panels, also used in architectural design for flooring and decoration.

Wedge wire screens are used in mineral processing plants and food processing plants for sizing and washing. These industrial profile wire screens are also used to process corn for ethanol and corn starch, as well as to process sugar, animal waste and fertilizer.

Wedge wire screen finds more fields of application in replacement of wire mesh and perforated screen where great strength and accuracy are both required at the same time. Especially in waste water treatment and vibrating screens.

In natural rubber (Africa) processing plants, our customers are requiring Wedge Wire Screens to replace perforated mesh to build static screens:

Waste water treatment solution
The plants produces between 50 and 100 m3/hour of waste water, depending on its size.This water is slightly acidic (pH 5,5) and contains suspended solids: tree bark, wood chips, leaves, twigs, and some debris of natural rubber. The total solid content is about 5 % (by weight) of which 90% is over 5 mm big, less than 5% is smaller than 1 mm.

The screen is used to remove all debris over 0,5 mm. We supply wedge wire screens (sieve bends) to build static screens to remove debris, for effluent treatment plants, to replace former perforated screen.

Vibrating screens
The rubber plants, a vibrating screen is used to separate granulated natural rubber from the flow of process water in which it is transported. The screens are flat and equipped with perforated stainless steel plates.

The granulated rubber has a minimum dimension of 3,5 mm and is transported in 100 m3/h of water at 40C. The water is alkaline : lime is added and may tend to clog the screen openings.

Our customers ask for Flat wedge wire screen to replace the perforated plates:
Dimension of the screen : width 1,5 m, length 2 m. The wires screens are installed lengthwise to let the rubber slide down.
