Wedge Wire Element as Sea Water Strainer in Replacing Perforated Strainers
Wedge wire screen is ideal solution in Sea-water strainer with high strength structure, excellent corrosion resistance.
We have supplied wedge wire straining element for many customers in sea water filtration. Following attached is a project reference for middle east country filter needs.

Customers Problem:
The strainer has a perforated sheet of 1 mm di a hole X 1.5 mm pitch X 0.9 mm thick. During operation, the perforated metal sheet buckle up. This is due to the fact that design of this strainer is very fragile and is not able to take up high DP.
Solution: We suggest to replace Perforated Sheet Basket Strainer ( as below) with Wedge Wire Element that offers high strength.
Reasons to choose Wedgewire strainer: Replacing perforated basket strainer with wedge wire element will reduce the effective / net filtration area and will result in high DP, but max Dp of 1 bar is acceptable for the project.
Wedge wire elements can be made of three optional materials: MONEL, HAST-C & DUPLEX SS.
